No more dirty terrazzo floor! This terrazzo lobby looks elegant once again.

This is what the terrazzo floor looked like when we first arrived on the job site. It was very dirty, as you can see.

Our terrazzo honing and polishing process removes scratches, dirt, dullness, and other damage, and restores the finish.

This terrazzo floor is now beautifully restored.
A Little Bit of History…
The Fox Theatre is a performing arts center located at 2211 Woodward Avenue in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, near the Grand Circus Park Historic District. Opened in 1928 as a flagship movie palace in the Fox Theatres chain, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989. Outdated Maintenance Methods Wreak Havoc On Terrazzo
This terrazzo floor had been waxed for over three decades, a common practice prior to advancements in stone restoration. Waxes and other coatings on terrazzo produce a temporary shine. With traffic and use, the shine on this historic floor had faded, become scratched, and had trapped dirt and grime. The old coatings were not completely removed before new coatings were applied, resulting in a floor that looked yellowed, old, and very unsightly.
Terrazzo Honed, Polished, and Sealed
We removed all the waxes and coatings from the Terrazzo floor with diamond grinding, the same method used with traditional marble and other natural stone restoration. Then we gave the floor a natural polish, eliminating the need for continuous stripping and waxing. Finally, we sealed the floor to inhibit the absorption of stains.
