The Problem
The stone fireplace in this Rochester, MI home was covered in a thick layer of soot and ash that had accumulated over the course of a decade or more.
The Solution
Before we began working, we masked and protected the surrounding area of painted drywall. Then, we used hot water commercial extraction to flush out the soot, ash, dirt, and grime from the porous surface of the stone, adjusting the pressure and temperature to achieve the most effective cleaning results without causing any damage to the stone. (The second image was taken half way through the job, so our website visitors could see the difference.)
Stone restoration isn’t just for floors and countertops — it’s for any type of stone surface, including showers, tub surrounds, and as you see here, fireplace surrounds, including mantels. Stone restoration services are also periodically needed for outdoor areas, including outdoor kitchens, pool decks, patios, and more. A qualified stone restoration contractor can provide virtually any type of stone restoration service.
